ENCAUSTIC PAINTING with Kristin Stevenson - Mondays, March 17, 24, 31 and April 7, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, $120 - $140 (all materials included) REGISTER

Join us for a new and exciting way to paint! We will be using a cold wax medium with oil paints. Kristin has been teaching this unique style of painting for a number of years locally and in other areas.

Minimum enrollment of 5 and maximum of 10. Please register by March 3rd.

FLOWER FAIRY DOLL WORKSHOP with JoAnne Fredette - Tuesdays, April 8 and 15,  4:00 - to 6:00 PM, $45 - $55  REGISTER

Join us for a magical two-week workshop where you'll learn to craft delicate flower fairy dolls using fabric, wire, embroidery floss and silk flowers. Perfect as gifts, home decor or seasonal decorations. These whimsical creations bring a touch of enchantment to any space.

Please bring your own low heat glue gun.

Designed for middle school to adult learners of all skill levels, this hands-on workshop will guide you through each step, from shaping the frame to dressing your fairy in beautiful petals and embellishments. No prior experience needed. All materials provided.

A Traditional Craft Revived -
Dorset buttons are an age-old craft that originated in the county of Dorset, England. These handcrafted buttons, dating back to the early 17th century, are cherished for their intricate patterns and unique charm. In modern times, Dorset buttons have experienced a resurgence in popularity, becoming a beloved hobby for crafters and textile enthusiasts alike. By attending a class in making Dorset buttons, you can immerse yourself in this delightful tradition and learn to create your own beautiful buttons. You can use these as buttons for clothing, or make them into jewelry.

All supplies will be provided.

STAINED-GLASS PLANT STICKS  with Heather France – Thursdays, May 1, 8, 15 and 22, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, $60 - $70 REGISTER

DETAILS

Learn to make stained-glass plant sticks for your outdoor flower or interior plant pots. A set of three pieces including a bumblebee, a ladybug, and a gnome. Students will need to bring a shoe box and newspaper to wrap their glass.  Glasses or safety glasses and apron or smock are required. No open toed shoes. Drinks must be in a covered container.

Heather has 25 years of experience.

WILLOW BARK BASKET WORKSHOP with Sandra Kehoe – Saturday, May 31, 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM, $85 - $95  REGISTER

DETAILS

Come learn traditional basketry techniques while working with locally gathered, soft natural materials suited for weaving.  We will also discuss harvesting, drying, storing and preparing natural local materials for basket making. All materials and tools provided.

Minimum 6 students Maximum 12 students to hold class.

NOTE: In general, classes are $10 more for non-members. When you join as a member, your yearly membership fee helps boost our scholarship fund!  By joining, we can award more scholarships and offer even more low-cost classes.

SEW A T-SHIRT QUILT with Susan Andrus - Saturdays from 2:00 - 4:00 pm March 2nd, 9th, 23rd and 30th. Some work will need to be done outside of class. BVACC Members $40 and non-Members $50. Optional: for a smaller throw-sized quilt, 6 t-shirts and 1 yard of fabric can be used. Maximum class size: 6.

BVACC Writing Group - Do you write poetry, newsy letters, essays, journal or the next award-winning novel? Or do you want to get started writing? Join our BVACC writing group - a low key, accepting opportunity to kick start or continue pursuing that urge to write. Bring a pen & notebook, laptop, tablet, phone or whatever you need to write. Maybe some materials to illustrate your writing as well. Meet with Susan Andrus, retired writing teacher, Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00PM, March 14, 21, 28, April 4, 11 & 17. $25 for Members and $35 for Non-members.

ART JOURNAL with Storm Hammond - Adhesive no-sew matchbook, accordion books, rubber band books, pamphlet folds, pockets and ephemera. Students can bring personal papers photos, favorite quotes, magazine pictures and scraps. Saturday, April 6 at 1:00 to 4:00 PM. $45 plus $10 materials fee.

PAPER MAKING with Dee Hazlett - Tuesdays, May 14th, 21st and 28th at 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Using scrap paper and paper on its way to the recycle bin, make paper instead! Equipment needed: 10 plastic coat hangers, an old bed sheet which will be cut, two towels and a 40-gallon plastic tote.  $40.00 for Members and $50.00 for Non-members.
