These handcrafted buttons, dating back to the early 17th century, are cherished for their intricate patterns and unique charm. In modern times, Dorset buttons have experienced a resurgence in popularity, becoming a beloved hobby for crafters and textile enthusiasts alike. By attending a class in making Dorset buttons, you can immerse yourself in this delightful tradition and learn to create your own beautiful buttons.
You can use these as buttons for clothing, or make them into jewelry.
All supplies will be provided.
STAINED-GLASS PLANT STICKS with Heather France – Thursdays, May 1, 8, 15 and 22, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, $60 - $70 REGISTER
Learn to make stained-glass plant sticks for your outdoor flower or interior plant pots. A set of three pieces including a bumblebee, a ladybug, and a gnome. Students will need to bring a shoe box and newspaper to wrap their glass. Glasses or safety glasses and apron or smock are required. No open toed shoes. Drinks must be in a covered container.

WILLOW BARK BASKET WORKSHOP with Sandra Kehoe – Saturday, May 31, 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM, $85 - $95 REGISTER
Come learn traditional basketry techniques while working with locally gathered, soft natural materials suited for weaving. We will also discuss harvesting, drying, storing and preparing natural local materials for basket making. All materials and tools provided.
Minimum 6 students Maximum 12 students to hold class.
NOTE: In general, classes are $10 more for non-members. When you join as a member, your yearly membership fee helps boost our scholarship fund! By joining, we can award more scholarships and offer even more low-cost classes.
